Warlock PvP Basics

Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of your Warlock is the most basic secret of success in WoW PvP combat. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that’s all you need to know, or even close to it. But without a thorough understanding of your character’s strengths and weaknesses in PvP combat, you will only be able to go so far. So let’s look at the PvP strengths and weaknesses of a Warlock.

Warlock PvP Strengths

If you’ve ever faced one, you know that Warlocks can be a nightmare to go against in Player versus Player. Your character’s greatest strength is the way they can DoT and crowd control. In plain English, your character’s strength is the way they can cast spells that do damage over time on an opponent, then cause the victim to run around out of control as they die.

Another strength of your Warlock when going against magic users is the Felhunter. Trained specifically to fight spell casters, these fierce beasts will ruin an opposing caster’s day for sure.

Warlock PvP Weaknesses

Fortunately for your opponents, your character does also have weaknesses in Player versus Player combat. Mages (and others) can break your Fear spells and counter your DoT spells. Against these pests, you’ll want to deploy your Felhunter. But you’ll also need some direct damage types of spells. You’ll burn up lots of mana fighting these guys, so mana-replenishing spells like Life Tap will be crucial to keep your from running out. Running out of mana in Player versus Player combat is a fatal mistake.
