The PvE Bible as your Nexus Guide

The PvE Bible dedicates 9 pages to a Nexus walkthrough. In these pages you will learn everything you need to know about this instance. T Dub lists all the loot available (both regular and heroic) for defeating each of the bosses, so you know what’s worth having.

You’ll also find a list of all the available quests in the instance, with clickable links out to third-party sites for more information on each. I think this is especially useful, since it gives you access to info on the latest changes to any of the quests, even faster than T Dub can update the PvE Bible itself.

Another thing you’ll find useful is the detailed information on each of the bosses in the instance: Grand Magus Telestra, Anomalus, Ormorak the Tree Shaper, and Keristrasza, the final boss in the instance. While you could blast your way through this instance yourself, and eventually figure everything out, how useful to you is it to know that the Grand Magus can split into three clones, each with their own unique attacks. Or how much time would you have wasted before you discovered that the only way to get to Keristrasza is to kill all three of the other bosses, IN ORDER?

Important: You need to pay close attention to this information. Not only are there certain achievements you can’t get if you go by the old advice on gear, but if you’re not equipped properly, you can turn a relatively easy raid into a nightmare.

There is some Obsidian Sanctum how to advice out there. But most of it isn’t that great. Fortunately, I did find one great source of Obsidian Sanctum how to information.

The PvE Bible’s Obsidian Sanctum how to section is 15 pages long. This is detailed strategy and tactics advice on anything that matters in this raid.

Starting with the single encounter raid, T Dub walks you through every raid variation, showing you the right way to work your way all the way up to the four-boss encounter with raid boss Sartharion and all three mini-bosses.

This guide book is quite complete, with loads of detail. In it, you’ll discover everything you need to know, from the key attributes and gear your raiders must possess, to the exact tactics you can use to take down each mini-boss and all the mobs quickly while keeping your party intact for the final battle. It’s clear that T Dub has done this raid many times, and honed his approach to perfection.

What most impresses me about the Obsidian Sanctum strategy section of PvE Bible is its efficiency. As you progress to ever more difficult versions of the raid, you never have to unlearn anything you learned for an earlier version of the raid. By teaching techniques that will work for the most difficult raid even when they’re not necessary to beat the current raid, T Dub ensures that you don’t have to unlearn bad habits as you progress.

Attention: You can get into some bad habits in the lower-level raids. What you’ll learn from T Dub is strategies and tactics that are as effective in the most difficult instance of this raid as they are for the easiest ones. Surely you’ll agree that it’s much better to learn strategies and tactics that apply to all levels of the raid than to have to relearn everything each run through?

Given the different number of mini-bosses you can deal with in this raid, coming up with an Obsidian Sanctum strategy can be tough. The more mini-booses you face, the better the loot, but the bigger the headaches. I know how frustrating this can be, since I’ve experienced this myself. There was a time when we couldn’t manage to complete all the different variations no matter what. But that problem is gone now.

While standing back and pouring arrows into your foes sounds simple, it isn’t easy to be good at this. After all, this is the class that can pour out more DPS from further away than any other. But there’s more to it than that.

To become an excellent member of a raiding party, you need to develop an effective shot rotation, then practice, practice, practice until it becomes second nature. But this in itself isn’t enough. Without the right gear and consumables for each raid, you won’t be able to deliver the amount of damage the party expects from you.
